Beams AI Featured in Aircraft IT – Turbocharging Safety at airBaltic

We’re thrilled to share that Beams AI has been featured in the latest issue of Aircraft IT Operations (Q1/2025), highlighting our transformative partnership with airBaltic and the impact of our Safety AI platform on aviation risk management. You can read the full article on page 15 of the issue here: Aircraft IT Operations Q1/2025.
Earlier this year, airBaltic became one of the first global airlines to integrate Beams AI into its safety risk management ecosystem. Fast forward six months, and the results are speaking for themselves.
"We became 20x faster in report processing,"
— Lauris Mikelsons, VP of Compliance & Safety at airBaltic
By leveraging our AI—specifically trained in aviation risk analysis and enriched with airBaltic’s own historical safety data—airBaltic has unlocked new levels of efficiency and accuracy in hazard detection. Beams AI can now swiftly analyze over 30,000 safety reports, flagging low-risk reports with over 99% accuracy and freeing up their safety teams to focus on the most critical issues. The outcome? A significant reduction in processing time and a more proactive approach to safety.
But the collaboration didn’t stop there. The success of the initial rollout has led airBaltic to expand its use of Beams AI into new initiatives, including the development of AI tools for organization-wide hazard trend analysis. By training our models with airBaltic’s extensive historical data, the airline now gains real-time insights into evolving risks—empowering faster, smarter responses across operations.
Pauls Cālītis, Chief Operations Officer and Board Member at airBaltic, sums it up perfectly:
"Beams AI enables airBaltic to detect potential hazards in near real-time, allowing our operation to respond swiftly and effectively, ensuring the safety and efficiency of our flights."
At Beams, we are proud to support airBaltic’s commitment to setting the standard in aviation safety through cutting-edge AI. Their leadership in adopting and scaling intelligent risk management is a powerful example of how data and machine learning can redefine industry benchmarks.
